Nadira
Novruzov

Nadira Novruzov is a flutist, educator, and sometimes vocalist based in New York City. She currently studies with Robert Langevin on a full scholarship in the Orchestral Performance program at the Manhattan School of Music. In the spring of 2026, she graduated with her M.M. in Flute Performance from the Yale School of Music studying with Tara Helen O'Connor, as the first wind player ever to complete Yale's combined B.A./M.M. program. She graduated with distinction from Yale College with her B.A. in History in May of 2025.

While at Yale, Nadira was recognized on numerous occasions for her musicianship, receiving the Yale School of Music's Alumni Association Award in 2026 and Yale College's Terry E. & Irene F. Sharp Prize in 2024, given each year to the most outstanding performer in the junior class. Nadira was also the 2022 winner of the William Waite Concerto Competition and made her international debut as the concerto soloist on the Yale Symphony Orchestra's 2023 Mexico tour, playing the Reinecke Flute Concerto in concert halls across the country. In addition to her New Haven accolades, Nadira is also the principal flutist on the Grammy-award winning album of the New York Youth Symphony, of which she was a fellow in the 2020-2021 season.

Nadira is a 2026 Emerging Artist at chamber music festival Music From Salem, and has also been a fellow at numerous other festivals, including the Sarasota Music Festival, the Colorado College Summer Music Festival, the New York String Orchestra Seminar, and the Round Top Festival Institute. Both within and outside of these festivals, Nadira has had the privilege of participating in masterclasses with many renowned flutists, including Jasmine Choi, Alex Sopp, Michel Moragues, Jeffery Khaner, Valerie Coleman, Keith Underwood, Jeanne Baxtresser, Gergely Itzés, Carol Wincenc, Sir James Galway, Mark Sparks, Cynthia Meyers, John McMurtery, and Michael Cox.

Nadira has also been a passionate educator for nearly a decade. At Yale, she taught a full studio of undergraduates as well as beginner students. She also has extensive experience as a writing tutor and held a Writing Partner position at Yale's Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning for four years. In addition, Nadira was selected to be a Graduate Affiliate at Ezra Stiles College for the 2025-2026 year, where she acted as a mentor to undergraduates and organized concerts to bridge the undergraduate and graduate music communities at Yale.

In addition to her flute performance schedule in New Haven, Nadira sang in the alto section of internationally renowned sacred music choir, Yale Schola Cantorum, with whom she completed a concert tour of Italy in the summer of 2026, singing Haydn's Creation and making her traverso debut in collaboration with Juilliard415.
